3/2/2023 0 Comments Fairly oddparents apptrapOf course, Saturday May 4th is the scheduled premiere date of the new season, though I've noticed a few sites have switched the premiere date to the 11th for some reason. Crocker and Cosmo are his go-to characters for easy jokes, but we've all figured that out by now. Some people won't like that but it would improve the cartoon drastically in my opinion, considering that this show lacks a positive female role model that is Timmy's age. I've always said that they should switch focus fully to Timmy and Tootie eventually, given the future with her and Timmy that is shown its almost a slap in the face to fans to have him still treating her like dirt at this point. Mainly, it seems like even he does not know what to do with her character anymore and has reached a dead end with Timmy/Trixie plotlines. My biggest takeaway was his thoughts on Trixie. Not much revealed here, basically the same non-answers and rhetoric we've come to expect from Hartman's "interviews". Interview With Butch Hartman Creator Of The Fairly Odd Parents ~ Otakus & You know, he’ll say, ‘Hey Timmy, can you hide this evidence for me? I mean, this bag of peanuts?’” Hartman explains with a laugh. “Sparky’s a character with a past, which is fun. Hopefully, longtime viewers and current kids alike will embrace the newest member of the Fairly Odd Family: Sparky, a trouble-making dog with canine-based magical powers - for instance, making fire hydrants appear out of thin air - who was first introduced in the special that aired before this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards. Hartman, I grew up on with your show.’ And they still love watching it.” The kind of writing that we do on our show applies to kids of any age, which is why I still get these 20-year-old kids coming up to me and saying, ‘Mr. “We have all this research that people do at the network - what kids like, what kids don’t like, and kids of today, are they different from kids of yesterday? To me, kids like to be entertained,” he says. The animator tells EW that while the show has certainly evolved since its 2001 premiere - fairy godfather Cosmo, for example, has become “really stupid” because “the dumber we made him, the more jokes we could write” - its core values have stayed intact, even though its original viewers aged out of Nickelodeon’s audience long ago. Though a few one-off OddParents specials have aired already this year, the May 4 episode is the official start of season 9 - a milestone of which Fairly OddParents creator Butch Hartman is understandably proud. Nickelodeon’s third-longest running Nicktoon ever will return for an all-new season Saturday, May 4, at 9:30 a.m. Get ready for more wands, wings, and floaty crowny things. That is the difference between a made up on a whim idea like Timmy getting a dog and actual intriguing plots fans were asking for such as Cosmo and Wanda having a baby, Timmy/Tootie, and his inevitable separation from his fairies (a movie which turned out to be a copout, another viewership killer, but we've been over that rant) that is what separates the 6.8 million viewer Fairly Odd Movie "success" with a 3-4 million viewer "meh" like this movie and every other animated movie since Odd Baby. It's a little better than the last few animated episodes, yes, but its low for a FOP special and considering the promotion and time slot it got 3.9m is almost inexcusable. the Fairly Odd Christmas movie was merely a few months ago and it scored higher viewers in spite of having bad promotion and an awkward air date that was changed at the last moment. As others have pointed out, its a far cry from the Fairly Odd Baby special. UPDATE: FOP got 3.9 million viewers last Saturday, that is. The" three hours of magical mayhem" at the end likely refers to the total size of that particular iTunes volume, which is broken up into increments, so there will be more episodes to come.
